Born and raised in the cutest capital of the world; Amsterdam, which is still my favourite place in the universe and will always be my home.

For a clear picture of who I am, I will start with some history.

My parents are travelers, have lived in the United States, France, Iran and Holland and have driven my brother and me all over Europe since we were little. Holidays camping with our VW-van and tents, spending time on the beach, in churches and musea, wandering through forests, city-trips, visiting friends and family everywhere and wintersports.

Growing up in Amsterdam, biking around town, going to the zoo, taking the dog out for long walks on the ugly Dutch beach or in the woods. I fell in love with rock-climbing at age 9, spent a lot of time climbing the French Alps and my mom and I were always busying ourselves with some 'project' or another: clay, paper-mache, paint or some other craft. Wow, what a picture-perfect childhood :)

After being a horrible teenager and finally finishing highschool far too late, there was a decision to be made; what next? Over the previous years I had changed my mind about my further education more times than anyone cared to count, but in the end, I decided to go to art-school. Living by myself in the city, starting my carreer as a snowboard-teacher in winter-holidays, studying contemporary art, partying with my friends and going on camping- or city-trips as often as pissible.

So after my graduation and working for almost a year, nobody was really surprised when I packed all my belongings into a storage-unit and left. Spent a couple of months in South-East Asia, a winter-season in Switzerland and making plans for the future.

This blog exists mostly because I process things out loud and I need to get certain thoughts out of my brain to keep sane, but obviously also to keep my wonderful friends and family updated on my life and to inspire anyone out there to do whatever it is that they want in their lives and share some of the nice options that I have come accross over the past years.

Just a short note on the fact that I have Reumatoide Artitis and Crohn's disease, have had a lot of problems over the years with especially my knees and bowel, am actually missing about 50cm of the latter and need a lot of medication, special precautions and regular check-ups. This is not something that I enjoy writing about but if you have any questions or remarks, ofcourse feel free to send me a message!

While this is an up-beat blog about all the stuff I love and cherish in this world, I want to take quick moment to mention that this society often saddens me. Without wanting to get into details about the politics of war, religion, money, how we treat our planet and humane flaws or implying that I am some kind of perfect human being, I just want to let you know that I think it's important to be nice to each other, try your best (whatever that is) to make the world a better place and enjoy to the fullest.

That being said, I try to remind myself often that I am one of the lucky ones; born in a liberal country, free to make my own decisions about life, semi-healthy and with an awesome group of friends and family who I know support me. There is a lot to be thankful for :)
